Musical Theater Workshop

The Musical Theater Workshop class will guide students ages 13-18 through learning, rehearsing, and performing songs from golden age and contemporary musicals alike. We’ll also incorporate topics like musical theatre singing, audition preparation, rehearsal etiquette, and acting techniques. Expect a supportive and collaborative space in which we build confidence while building skills!

We’ll select solos, duets, and small group numbers with student preferences in mind. Focusing on two of the three “threats” in musical theatre– acting and singing– we will stage and rehearse numbers for a showcase at the end of the 6-week class.

Students should have some experience singing and learning music. Prior acting or dance experience is NOT required. For the first day, students are asked to prepare approximately one minute of a song they like to sing, preferably musical theatre, and to bring sheet music or an accompaniment track.

Class Duration: Each class is 2 hours long. There are six weeks of classes.

The class will run on Saturdays May 18th to June 22nd from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
