Melody has been passionate about music since 1992, playing drums and guitar for over three decades. She has been teaching since 1999, inspiring students of all ages and skill levels. Her leadership experience includes directing the music programs at Career Tech Charter High School and the Neighbors for Kids after-school program in Lincoln County, where she fostered a love of music in her community.

As a former Co-director at Harmony Roadhouse and a dedicated private lesson instructor, Melody has a wealth of experience working with diverse learners, tailoring her teaching approach to suit each student’s learning style and interests. Her goal is to help students develop both foundational skills and practical application, enabling them to play music that truly moves them.

Active in the local music scene, Melody gigs on weekends with her band Outlaw Shine and often sits in with other local bands. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes band dynamics and creativity, providing students with a well-rounded perspective on drumming and overall musicianship.

Typically working with students ages 10 and up, Melody is committed to creating a safe, positive, and encouraging environment for learning. She holds an AAS in Audio Production, further enriching her understanding of music and sound.
