How’d you end up at Music Masters?

I recently relocated to Eugene, and wanted to continue teaching violin to all ages! Music Masters seemed like a great opportunity to get adjusted to the musical community here.

What sparked your passion for music?

My dad sparked my passion for music in the very beginning by having me take lessons in the Suzuki Method at age 4 and participating in fiddle contests at the local county fair. My love for bluegrass and classical music grew because of this. From there, I would say that watching Hilary Hahn play violin really sparked my passion for classical music more than anything. I felt passionate towards the violin when I watched how effortlessly and confidently she played.

How’d your music go from there?

I took private lessons up until after high school, participated in multiple chamber groups, orchestras, recitals, and summer camps. It’s been so great to have had so many musical experiences throughout my life and I’m very grateful.

Who would you most wanna jam with?

Laufey, Jacob Collier or Hilary Hahn.

What do you express through your music?

Music is very subjective, and it depends on the person playing the music. But for me, I try to express love because I really enjoy playing violin and it’s a personal feeling.

Your message to aspiring artists?

It’s important to play with confidence and show people who you are through music. It’s how you show your individuality and ultimately how you perform better, knowing that you pulled it off with confidence and being yourself.
