How did you end up at Music Masters?
Completing my education in music, I always knew that I would end up teaching. I found myself teaching for the first time back in 2019 and have held space for
teaching ever since. Even after taking a small hiatus from teaching, I found Music Masters aligning best with what I needed for myself. I'm very excited to be getting back to what I love most, which
is surrounding myself with creatives and making music.
What sparked your passion for music?
My passion for singing sparked when I first started in middle school and high school with my school's jazz group. That love grew as I continued to participate in other choirs and musicals all
the way into adulthood. Those teachers I had through those times were a huge part of my inspiration to continue with music and singing. The love and encouragement that came from those educators is a
big piece of what made me the performer and teacher I am today.
How did your music go from there?
My music from that moment blossomed into an understanding of all sorts of voice types from all the different opportunities I was given. I learned techniques in Jazz, Classical, Musical Theater,
and Modern Pop. Diversity in music and education has given me the tools I need to create a space for my students to try anything and everything and find their uniqueness through ever-changing
music.
Who would you most wanna jam with?
Taylor Swift, AURORA, Lizzy McAlpine, Sierra Ferrell
( I could list about 20+ more )
Your message to aspiring artists?
Always be yourself. You can always be inspired by other singers and performers, but don't forget to show who you are through your music. That’s the best part about singing, not everyone should
sound the same. That makes it so boring!
